I learned coding this week and I made vim

I learned coding this week and I made vim Well, not exactly vim. But I built something guided by the same philosophy: workflow is automation, not creation. While learning Python, I kept hitting the same friction points that every developer faces - git is overkill for solo work, changelogs are tedious, command histories get messy, notes are scattered everywhere. So I built a terminal-native productivity suite that removes these frictions:

I’ve decided to fix my note taking problem, by making my own note taking app. “mdns” is coming to GitHub pretty soon, a note taking app that accepts independent cli tools as modules.

2 more

2 more small app are done, I’m enjoying the process and thinking of some new concepts, the programming world is quite confusing to me after so many years being away, AI is helping me bridge the gap, and I don’t mind it. (I’m still the one coding/designing the logic that powers the app, no vibe coding here. 😅 stampt gitnot

Little MD Scratch Pad

AI sucks at writing, but not at writing code. So I keep using it to write code. The task app was done and I really wanted to make something new, but I still am not that skilled at all and so I ended up making a scratchpad app. Sorta? Anyway I put it on GitHub, I’m thinking about learning how to make these available on Homebrew or pip maybe, or maybe even Docker.

Messed a Bunch with ollama last night, didn’t sleep, but learned a bunch of cool stuff about large language models, and I talked to one in my MacBook terminal! Isn’t that fucking crazy? 👀 genuinely tho, how small some of these models have gotten is very impressive.

I wonder if I should lean In to the short form spirit of micro.blog since I’m going to host my blog here now?

Restarting back an old habit

Micro.blog grabbed my attention. I’ve been blogging on and off semi-seriously for the past 10 years. I’ve used WordPress for most of that time to publish my blogs, but I got discouraged with them when they had a gigantic price hike — and if I’m being honest with myself, WordPress started to become overkill for me. I just need a system to publish text. I don’t need any fancy designs or themes, mostly because I don’t blog to get discovered or famous or make money from it.
